We currently have 18 chickens. Nine hens live in a coop by themselves and 8 hens live with the goats. Having them living with the goats was an experiment. It seems to be going well. We have chickens of the following breeds: Rhode Island Red, Easter egger, Buff Orpington, and Black Australorp.
Our Girls do a lot of work around the farm. In addition to providing us with yummy eggs. When it comes time to dig up the beds they help us dig and fertilize at the same time!
